Pilatus, The Dragon Mountain

We went up to Mount Pilatus via Kriens with the aerial panoramic gondola and cable car. We can also go up to Mount Pilatus via Alpnachstad with the steepest cogwheel railway in the world but we opted for the cable car.

Mount Pilatus is 2,132 meters above sea level and higher than Mount Rigi, which could be seen from Mount Pilatus. It was cold up in Mount Pilatus but it was colder in Mount Rigi when we went up there.

Mount Pilatus is called the Dragon Mountain in Switzerland. Perhaps, this article about the “Dragon Legends” could explain why it’s called the Mountain of the Dragons.
