Rainy Baybay Beach Party

Saturday, July 5, 2008 @ 11:48 pm by Sofie Hofmann

I could not write anything after what happened in our town because of the typhoon Frank. I heard that it was flooding in our town too. I was worried as I was not able to contact my family in the province. I know, nothing really bad happened to them as I already talked to some members of our family who are not residing in Pandan. But then, I really wanted to talk to my mother. Finally, I was able to talk to my sister-in-law and my mother this morning.

They told me that the water did not flow inside the house. It was almost level to the floor but it seemed like the water tried to find its own way instead of going inside the house. The worst part about the flood was that, the water from the sea and the river met somewhere along the way, so a lot of houses got affected.

Our house is just about 50 meters away from the beach. So, you can just imagine how worried I was after hearing that some roofs of the other houses were damaged by the typhoon. It is not back to normal yet but at least I know now that they are doing fine so far.

Well, with that, I think it’s about time to tell you about Baybay’s beach party. The beach party was held about 50 meters away right from the back of our house. It was part of the celebration of the barangay fiesta in Baybay, a few days after Tugbong Festival, the town’s municipal and religious fiesta. People really look forward to the beach party after the town fiesta as it is quite known in our town that Baybay beach party is always fun.

But then, it was raining during that night. I thought there were not a lot of people. If there were people, they might not enjoy. I was mistaken. The rain was actually the cause that people had more fun. People enjoyed at the beach party and really had a lot of fun.

And me, despite the rain, even if I was sick, I still went to the beach party and had fun too. :)

One funny thing about it was, since people were all wet, they did not have a hard time finding a toilet if they needed to pee. :) They just went swimming and peed there at the same time. Another funny thing was, almost all of them were doing it at the same time. They did not mind though as most of them were drunk. And they were doing it until almost 5 o’clock in the morning, the time the party was finished. And I missed that fun because I was sick. All I did was taking their pictures but nothing on the swimming part. Probably, next time!

Nice… brings back memories of fun nights while at AIT … not sure if we were ever together in those. I remember when we went to some resort and stayed all night swimming and drinking (i think) … don’t remember what resort it was … ;-)

    Hello Jen!

I was not with your group most of the time kasi sobrang layo ng resort niyo sa amin noon. Pero masaya talaga yong mga boracay escapades natin noon. Almost gabi-gabi nag-di-disco. Nakakasawa rin. :) Those were the days…
