Scotland Golf Vacation in Summer 2008
It was early in the morning on July 07, 2008 when we left Weggis, Switzerland for a summer golf vacation in Scotland via Calais, France to Dover, England. From Dover, we decided to continue our travel the farther we can as long as it was not yet dark. We knew that we will not be able to proceed to Scotland then, so we made a decision to stay overnight past London area. At past 10:00pm, we eventually stopped in Toddington M1 Southbound and stayed at the Travelodge Hotel.
The next day at around 7:25am, we continued our road trip passing by Penrith and Carlisle, England. We were not really enthusiastic to go through the highway to Glasgow and then Edinburgh, and so, when we saw the signboard indicating the Tourist Route to Edinburgh A7, we just followed the direction up to Edinburgh. It was indeed a good decision as the landscape of this part of Scotland is really beautiful. We arrived in Edinburgh just before 4:00pm.

In the next few days, I will be writing about our 2008 summer and golf vacation in Edinburgh, in St. Andrews, in Inverness, in Oban, and in Hawick in Scotland. Once again, virtually travel with us to Scotland!
You know I love Golf, but have never played outside Scandinavia. This sounds very nice and the place looks good too. Thanks for sharing all your travel adventures lately!
Hello Renny!
You would love it in Scotland. And the bunkers/sands, they’re crazy. Hahaha…
Hello nanaybelen!
Andaming tao dyan, dami ngang turista e.
hi sofie – opa’s better now and i hope it’ll stay that way. and thanks for being there.
Hello Kengkay,
Yep, we took the car going to Scotland. It was a long drive so we often stopped just to have a rest. It was worth it. We enjoyed our trip. Yon talaga yong kagandahan doon, yong freedom to go where we wanted to go.
Regarding what happened last week, just hold on there! I hope opa will always be ok despite his loss. God bless you always.
Have a great week!
Hello Mahalia,
Yep, I designed this website and I have several other websites that I also designed. It’s just a hobby pero gusto ko yong challenge e.
I will try to write soon. Soon!
Have a nice week!
Hi Ms. Sofie Hofmann,
I wish you well. My parents are both from Pandan. My father is from Patria while my mother is from Centro Sur.
I used to travel in Switzerland particularly in Baden and Zurich. Presently employed to ABB Philippines. Hence, our main office is in Zurich.
Hoping to meet you someday in Zurich, or if you are here in Philippines you can email me and if you wish to play golf, it my pleasure to bring you to the nicest golf course here in Philippines.
Great website, particularly the pandan site…
With best regards,
Chito
Hi Chito,
Well, I know the surname, we have a lot of Majabagues in Pandan. Nice of you to visit my site and really commented in my blog. If you happen to travel here again, just let me know. We can meet in Zurich, at the city at least
, it’s not that far from our place.
Thanks for visiting the site and thanks for the compliment! Do come back.
Have a great weekend!
Sofie, those are beautiful photos from a beautiful place. I could only see ‘em on postcards and they looked miniaturesque from afar (first photo). Castles always reminds me of The Phantom and Enchanted, the movie.
Everytime I visit here, you’re either holidaying in Pinas or some place else.
sofie hugsssss grabe it’s been long time na! you’re looking great dear!!mwak mwak
Hello K!
We had our vacation in Scotland in July but I couldn’t find the time to blog about its details yet.
Hay…
Hello cheh!
You’re back to blogging! It’s been a long time na talaga. Na-miss kita a!
Have a great week!
WOWWW! What a beautiful place. Hmmmn, sosyal ka talaga ano? Pumunta lang nang Scottland para mag-golf. But the place itself is worth visiting…
Thanks for sharing Inday Sofie, I love your pics as usual!
Hugs and have a nice week too!
Hi Sofie,
Hello din daw sabi nila Misttie and Mng. Ruby. Loreto is still waiting for me to upload his golf pics hehe…
Need to chat with you one of these days, pag di ako busy — parang gusto ko nang i-upgrade to late WP ang aking site …
Sige, hi to E. Mwah!
Hello ‘te Beng!
Di naman tayo sosyal…
And for golfers kasi, ang makapunta sa St. Andrews is like heaven.
Hello Jen!
Hehehe, as if naman di ako busy no. :lol
Give my regards to Loreto and the children! Hugs and kisses!
golf born is scotland right? better check my historical facts.. golf golf golf na naman si manang sofie
Hello Sha,
Yep, you’re right, they consider St. Andrews, Scotland to be the home of golf. I’m supposed to be writing about St. Andrews after Edinburgh, just can’t find time to do it.
The usual me.
Well, I have other priorities.
