US President Barack Obama’s Inauguration
Congratulations to the US President Barack Obama and US Vice-President Joe Biden!
I just finished watching the Inaugural Address of President Barack Obama, the new President of the United States of America.

US President Barack Obama
I normally do not write anything about politics but I though that it was a historical event not only in the United States but all over the world. I never watched any inauguration of any of the US Presidents. It was the first time and in fact it was indeed amazing being able to somehow witness an event like that even if I was just watching it on television.
It was just past 6 o’clock in the evening here in Switzerland, around 6:07 P.M., when US President-elect Barack Obama took his oath on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. Right after he took his oath as the new President of the United States of America, he immediately delivered his Inaugural Address.
Among those who attended were his wife Michelle Obama and their children, the new US Vice-President Joe Biden, the new US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the former US President George W. Bush among others.
I thought that the Americans were not ready for an African-American President. The event that just happened only proves that the Americans indeed have matured.
President Barack Obama has a tough job to do and I hope he will be able to keep all his promises. People are hoping for a change. I hope it will come true.

Hello jeniffer,
We will see in the next few months, in the next few years.
I didn’t vote for Obama Actually people voted for Barrack because George Bush was such a terrible public speaker. Bush’s oratory was so horrendous he irreparably damaged his presidency, and decimated the image of the United States of America. most Americans wanted a president who could speak in public with confidence, clarity, and conviction. On the other hand, voted for John McCain because I couldn’t vote for George Bush a third time. I think actions speak louder than words, and in my opinion, Bush’s actions spoke louder than his words when it came to the important issue of defending this country. I felt John McCain had that same quality. In about six months we should know who was right, me or you…
I don’t agree with him closing “Gitmo”
Call it political expediency, keeping a campaign promise, appeasing his left wing constituency, whatever you call it issuing the order to close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba is not just risky but a sign of a President that either has no clue or just does not care. The risk that Obama is taking with the closing is not a personal political risk because it satisfies his liberal friends therefore keeping those who backed him happy. The risk that he is taking is with our National Security and that shows that either he does not have a clue or does not care or both. The detainees that are held in Gitmo are there for a reason. They are dangerous, an enemy to The United States and her people and pose a serious threat to the country and everyone who lives here.
Obama, would have us believe that the reasoning behind the closing of Gitmo is because the detainees are being denied ,”their Constitutional rights,” and that the existence of the detention center is damaging to the countries image around the world.Yet if this damage is as real as they portray then why is it that there is not a country including the home lands of the detainees who want these scum bags once they are removed from Gitmo. Next is the loose interpretation of Constitutional rights. The Constitution provides for the right of a fair and expedient trial and Habeus Corpus, which the detainees are not receiving, but the stickler here is that those rights so espoused for detainees by the left are for United States citizens and NOT enemy combatants who have no rights by our Constitution.
One thing though, your man is good at public speaking, is he good for anything other than that for all I know, he’s just going to give speeches during his tenure as President. .wanna comment? Hehehe!.
Hello Cocoy’s Delight,
I will not argue with you about Obama. I’m not a fan of Obama nor any of the US Presidents. It so happen that whether you agree or not, the event was a historical one. It will be one of those which will be forever remembered by the Americans and all over the world.
Regarding Guantanamo Bay, you also have to bear in mind that maybe, just maybe, not all in Guantanamo Bay are guilty of the crimes they are accused of. I will not elaborate on Human Rights violation but I think you know what I mean. One thing that I have observe here in Europe, they’re showing a lot of documentary films that Americans probably would not dare show in the US. Well, I really don’t know as I don’t live in the US. Regarding the detainees, it’s not that their countries don’t want them. It’s about those detainees’ security too. That’s why US is actually asking other European countries if those detainees could be “accommodated” by the Europeans.
Sofie,
By all means let Europe will you live in, accommodate this “Gitmo Gangs” We don’t want to have them here in San Francisco at Alcatraz. it may be a security risk to have so many traitors sitting on the other side of the bay who’d actively try to break the captured insurgents out. But hey, it’s not like most San Franciscans do anything besides hold signs, yell loudly, or use a little spray paint anyway.
Release them to the personal recognizance of Tony Blair who wants them. I’m sorry for being the cynic here, but don’t you all know the smell of pork by now? I’m sure that Mr. Blair could find it in his hearts to allow the transfer of these unique criminal, er alleged criminals. I’m sure the economic supplement, the creation of jobs, the need for several more permanent, civilian positions could help them understand the need for these prisoners to be relocated there.Iceland could sell a lot of popsicle and ice cream to boost a bankrupt economy.Hehehe!

Hello Cocoy’s Delight,
We will see if the European countries will be willing to “accommodate” them. I guess for the poor European countries, maybe, just maybe, if the the price is right.
The problem is, US have to fix its economy first. We’ll see in the next few months.
Sofie,
Thanks for visiting at posting at my site.I appreciated it so much
Hello Cocoy,
Thanks too and thanks for the link. I already added your blog in my links page.
Well, once in a while, it’s good to be flexible, depende sa issue.
Thanks for visiting my site.
hi sofie,
wala pa rin time to watch the whole inauguration. but i got to read it. am not really a tube watcher kasi e.
Hello Kengkay,
Di naman mahaba yong inaugural address niya e. Short lang actually. Ang bilis nga e.
it gave me goosebumps, actually..galing! sana ganun din sa pinas..
Hello Jeremiah,
Sana nga ganoon din, kaya lang iba-iba ang tao. Pero sa tutoo lang, I’m still hoping that someday, someday, we’ll have a good and honest leader. Na susugpo sa mga corrupt na officials.
Thanks for visiting my site.
