White Beach Boracay Island Philippines Trip

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 @ 1:36 pm by Sofie Hofmann

We went home early after a nice dinner with the family and friends at the Skyline in Vivere Suites Alabang. Our flight to Caticlan the next day was at 8:25 in the morning.

We went to Boracay via Caticlan with Cebu Pacific Air on May 20, 2009. The plane took off from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 after 8:25am but we arrived 2 minutes early in Caticlan, earlier than the estimated time of arrival which was 9:25am.

At 9:43am, we were already on our way to Boracay island. At 10:14am, we were already inside our room at the Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel.

We just rested for a while. After 12 noon, we went out for lunch but had our welcome drinks first at the Don Vito Ristorante Italiano. We did not have our lunch at Don Vito though.

We decided to walk along the beach from Boracay Mandarin located at Station 2 to Kasbah located at Station 1. We then had our lunch at the Kasbah Restaurant and Bar.

It was just 2 minutes before 4:00pm when we left Kasbah. We were in Boracay so there was no need to hurry. We just enjoyed our walk along the beach back to Boracay Mandarin.

The next day, it rained in Boracay. We had our breakfast at past 9:30am already. We did not like to go out and swim even when it was raining so we just waited a little bit until it stopped raining.

It was already past noon when it stopped raining. We then decided to walk along the beach, this time, from Boracay Mandarin located at Station 2 to the formerly Lorenzo South located almost at the end of Station 3 in Sitio Angol Brgy. Manoc-Manoc.

We knew that Lorenzo South was sold last year and now under a different name. I went to Boracay island white sand beach last year and actually stayed at the Lorenzo South resort.

After 3:00pm, we went to D’Mall. We hired a tricycle there going up to Mount Luho. We went back from Mount Luho to D’Mall after 4:00pm. Then I saw some Crepes with ice cream. What a great idea! I just had to have some and it was really so good.

We went back to Boracay Mandarin and had some pizza at the Don Vito Ristorante Italiano. It was already past 5:00pm then but we have got to try the pizza at Don Vito.

We did not go out anymore for a night life in Boracay. We just had our dinner at Don Vito and enjoyed its music. Don Vito had its own band or group of singers entertaining the guests.

The next day, after our breakfast, we went to the Boracay Tourist Center located at Station 3. After that, we just walked along the beach. It seemed like it did not rain the other day. It was hot but we still enjoyed our walk along the beach.

Our walks along the beach were great. We have seen the changes and took notes of the new resorts in Boracay. In just about a year, a lot of things have changed in Boracay. What a pity! Some cottages made of nipas and bamboos were replaced with concrete buildings.

Despite that, we still enjoyed our stay in Boracay.

We left Boracay island after 12 noon and went to Pandan, Antique, Philippines.

Before I finished this, let me show you what Boracay island looked like in January 2001.

This is just to give you an idea that it is nicer to visit Boracay at this time , not during Summer time especially months of April and May. Boracay is quite crowded during April and May.

Have fun in Boracay and hope to see you in Pandan!
