It was on May 31, 2009 when we we flew back from Hong Kong to Zurich via Paris with Air France. The plane took off at 10:33am instead of 10:20am which was the estimated time of departure from the Hong Kong International Airport also known as Chek Lap Kok Airport.

The Hong Kong International Airport was the central project of the Hong Kong Airport Core Programme which was organized by the Hong Kong government during the 1990s.

Hong Kong International Airport is known as Chek Lap Kok Airport because it was built on the island of Chek Lap Kok which is connected to Tung Chung in Lantau Island by North Lantau Highway on the north and Chek Lap Kok S Road on the south.

Hong Kong International Airport is also called Chek Lap Kok Airport so to distinguish it from the old Kai Tak Airport.

Hong Kong International Airport is one of the international airports that I really like aside from Changi Airport in Singapore, Zurich Airport in Switzerland, and Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands.

Hong Kong International Airport is huge but it seems so easy to find everything.

When it comes to shopping, there are a lot of shops inside the airport. Duty free shops are all over the place. When it comes to food, there are a lot of food kiosks and restaurants inside the airport.

When it comes to transportation, it is very efficient especially with its MTR, the Mass Transit Railway, the rapid transit railway system in Hong Kong. It makes traveling from the airport to any destinations in Hong Kong very easy and convenient. Other than the MTR, buses, ferries and taxis are also available as means of transportation.

When it comes to Internet, Wifi is available too inside the airport. You just have to find where the hot spots are.

There are a lot of nice things about Chek Lap Kok Hong Kong International Airport but sometimes it is better to find that out yourself.

Next time you have a vacation, why not travel via Hong Kong International Airport. Better yet, spend at least a few days in Hong Kong.

The plane landed at around 4:45pm at the Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminal 2E in Paris, France. We transferred from Terminal 2E to Terminal 2G with a bus. We flew with CityJet from Paris to Zurich. The plane took off at around 7:10pm from Charles de Gaulle Terminal 2G in Paris and landed at around 8:08pm at Zurich Airport.

We were back in Switzerland! So, vacation was definitely over!

Well, virtually travel with us again on our next summer vacation in Ireland!
