Hopp Schwiiz!
HOPP SCHWIIZ! Literally translated as UP SWITZERLAND! I would rather say GO SWITZERLAND!
The Switzerland National Soccer Team was really quite competitive. I didn’t watch any game, it’s just making me nervous even if I’m not a soccer fan. Last Friday, on June 23, 2006, I was upstairs as usual, I didn’t notice when Hub came up and loudly announced 2-0. I was so surprised that I told him, “I could have a heart attack”. He was like a little boy dancing because Switzerland won against South Korea, meaning, Switzerland made it to the Top 16. To add to that, Switzerland is the winner of the group which includes France, South Korea and Togo. Not bad at all, Switzerland!
I don’t have any photos of course of the games of Switzerland but you can view a lof of pictures at the official site of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, FIFAworldcup.com, which is available in several languages.

June 23, 2006 - Game between Switzerland and Korea Republic - English | German
Tonight at 9:00pm, Switzerland will be playing against Ukraine. The game is going to be aired at SF ZWEI and ORF1. It’s going to be a Knockout system. The winner will advance to the next level. The other one will no longer be able to compete for the World Cup 2006.
Good luck, Switzerland!
