Interlaken, Switzerland
We had a sightseeing tour of the lake of Brienz on November 04, 2006 and part of it was an afternoon break in Interlaken. After we left Brienz, we proceeded to Interlaken, had some coffee and chocolate and desserts at the Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel and Spa.

Interlaken is a municipality located between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the district of Interlaken in “Bernese Oberland” or Bernese Highlands, canton of Berne in Switzerland.

Interlaken is situated at the foot of the famous towering trio of peaks, the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau, with the altitude of 4000 meters.

Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel, a five-star superior de luxe hotel, built in 1864/65, is probably the most famous hotel in Interlaken.

The district of Interlaken is home to the one of the famous events, customs and traditions in Switzerland, The Unspunnen Festival, which I wanted to attend two months ago. Unfortunately, we were not able to go to Interlaken on September 1-3, 2006.
More about Unspunnen Festival and Unspunnen Stone at Wikipedia and Swiss World.
