Scottish Borders Tourist Route to Edinburgh

Thursday, October 30, 2008 @ 5:28 pm by Sofie Hofmann

As I was saying in my last blog entry, we followed the Scottish Borders Tourist Route via A7 to Edinburgh and the Lothians. That was the nicest thing about having a road trip with our own car. We were able to see the beautiful sceneries of the place on our way to our next destination. We we were able to stop anytime we liked and just enjoyed the ride without really minding the time.

So, let me show you some pictures of the beautiful rolling hills and valleys of the Scottish Borders Tourist Route via A7 on the way to Edinburgh and the Lothians. Let me show you too some pictures of a few of the towns where we passed. Imagine yourself being inside the car, unaware of all what’s happening in you surroundings. Just enjoy the calm panoramic views of the Scottish Borders and the Lothians despite the occasional heavy rain.

Yes, that is right, it rained heavily on certain areas so I was not really able to get a lot of photos. It was not easy taking photos with all the rain pouring on the windshield of the car.

Welcome to Edinburgh!

As I have mentioned, it was raining heavily so it really looked so dark. It just stopped raining when we arrived in Edinburgh.

I hope you enjoyed your virtual ride along the Scottish Borders Tourist Route, also along the River Tweed, only I was not able to get any photo. See you next time! We will surely have fun going around Edinburgh City virtually!

Really great picture of a beautiful landscape. I’m sorry to say, I’ve never been in Scotland but a lot of Norwegians have and with relatives from long time – even from the Viking period.

It looks very much like in Norway too – even with heavy rain so I do feel like home in this pictures.

I’m looking forward to a follow up from Edinburgh!

In the mean time, I wish you a wonderful end to your week :-)

    The hills are alive……

For me joyriding is much much fun than taking a quick ride by plane unless of course if you’re the one sitting on the passenger’s seat, hahaha.

Beautiful Edinburgh, thanks for shring – felt like I was inside in one of those bar and ordered a steak and gigantic beer after getting off from the car. Wheh!

Kahit na umuulan basta lang wag lang masyadong malakas. :) Yong trip kasi namin, ang lakas talaga ng ulan noong malapit na kami sa Edinburgh.

The reason why we took our car because we enjoyed our road trip last year when we went to Ireland. We will surely do it again next time! :)
