On the day we arrived in Caticlan on May 20, 2009, we were fetched by Boracay Mandarin representatives at the Caticlan Domestic Airport or the Godofredo Ramos Airport. We traveled about 5 to 10 minutes from the airport to the jetty port. We were privately transported with Boracay Mandarin’s own boat from Caticlan jetty port to Cagban port in Boracay Island.

Just like with Bohol Beach Club in Panglao Island in Bohol, we never had problems checking in early at Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel. Our room was already prepared when we arrived at the hotel considering that it was just around 10:00am.

Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel was not that big but the Premier Seaview Room was comfortable enough for 2 nights and 3 days stay in Boracay. Internet connection at Boracay Mandarin was free. The hotel even provided me the ethernet cable because I forgot mine at home. I just asked them and they gave me one right away. The staff was really friendly from housekeeping to the reception area.

Anyway, we rested for a while, then went down after 12 noon at the Don Vito Ristorante Italiano and had our Frozen Lemonade welcome drinks. I was not fond of lemonade, but WOW, the one at Don Vito was definitely good. It was not too sour, not too sweet, simply great.

As I have mentioned, we went to Kasbah for lunch, went back to the hotel after 4pm already. But it took us more than 40 minutes to walk from Kasbah to Boracay Mandarin. We just rested after our walk along the White Beach Boracay but somehow we were in a way tired too from all the trips that we did from Hong Kong to Manila to Bohol to Boracay.

We had our dinner at the Don Vito Ristorante Italiano, a restaurant attached to Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel. We did not go out for dinner to any other restaurant. Aside from the breakfast, one meal per day was included in our package at the Boracay Mandarin. We had soup, chicken, and grilled squid for dinner. I just loved the grilled squid!

We did not go out anymore after dinner for a night life. I think, we passed that stage that we just wanted to rest early. There was actually a band singing at Don Vito while we were having our dinner but we did not even finish watching the show. We just went to bed early.

The next day, we had our breakfast at Don Vito of Boracay Mandarin. Breakfast at Don Vito was buffet and I really liked it. We went for a walk along the beach after breakfast and then went to Mount Luho after 3:00pm. We went back to the hotel at around 5:00pm.

We were kind of hungry so we tried the pizza at Don Vito. We just had to because we saw that Don Vito had a pizza oven where wood was being used to make a fire to heat the oven. Well, the pizza was actually good. You will find the pizza good if you are not into Pizza Hut pizza or whatever commercialized pizza.

Dinner was again at Don Vito. We had soup and grilled fish. I just forgot if I had grilled blue marlin or grilled tangigue.

The band was playing again at Don Vito, and at that time we finished watching the show. There was a group of visitors who were really having a great time with the band.

After the show, as usual, we just went up to our room and slept early. Going to Boracay was just about relaxing and not getting sober.

Well, actually I needed to book online our flight from Caticlan to Manila because we bought one-way tickets only from Manila to Caticlan.

The next day, we had our breakfast at Don Vito again. As usual, good breakfast buffet. I just loved the “Arroz Caldo”.

After breakfast, before we went to Boracay Tourist Center, I went to the business center of the hotel and printed the tickets, of course for a fee. People were friendly and helpful once again.

After coming back from Boracay Tourist Center, we checked out, and Boracay Mandarin representatives brought us to Cagban port with a car.

Yes, an air-conditioned car. I was surprised because I was used to vans, boats and tricycles in Boracay. That means, cars were finally approved to be brought in the island. Even the vans before were banned in the island. How time flies in Boracay.

Anyway, we were again transported privately by Boracay Mandarin’s own boat from Cagban port in Boracay to Caticlan jetty port in Caticlan but to the jetty port by Newcoast Fairways and Bluewater. Then we were transferred from there to the main Caticlan jetty port as I told my brother to fetch us at the main Caticlan jetty port.

Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel was located at Station 2 in Boracay Island. The hotel was not that big and the room that we booked was not that big too but it was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good at Don Vito Ristorante Italiano. There was no need to go out and eat somewhere else. We were satisfied at the services of the hotel.

By the way, we booked our accommodation at Boracay Mandarin in Boracay Island through a friend, Grace of Anscor Casto Travel. She also booked our accommodation at Bohol Beach Club in Panglao Island in Bohol. Grace was such a big help to us. Thank you, Grace!
