Simple Happiness

On our third day in Hong Kong, after an enjoyable Lan Kwai Fong night out on the first day, and another night trip up to Victoria Peak on the second day, we just thought that it was time to go to Discovery Bay during the day.

We went for a walk in Discovery Bay and ate at the Caramba Mexican Cantina. We ordered some shrimp salad, nachos, and enchilladas. Caramba Mexican Cantina was indeed a good choice when it comes to Mexican food.

Discovery Bay is not really a tourist area but people are starting to notice the place. Despite the influx of visitors, it remained a cozy place to go to if you do not like the chaos of the city.

Victoria Peak is one of the most popular attractions in Hong Kong located in Hong Kong Island. Locally, Victoria Peak is plainly called The Peak.

When we arrived at the Victoria Peak, we went up first to the Peak Tower. We did not go up to the highest point of the Peak Tower as we decided to go down and transferred to the Lookout Point.

After enjoying the fascinating view of Victoria Harbour, Kowloon, and Hong Kong from the Lookout Point, we ate at the Peak Lookout restaurant formerly known as the Old Peak Café.

Lan Kwai Fong is a small square of streets in Central, Hong Kong, and is very popular among expatriates for drinking, clubbing and dining.

It is like Temple Bar in Dublin, Ireland, maybe like Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland, and probably like Malate in Manila, Philippines.

We went to the Philippines via Hong Kong in May 2009. We stayed in Hong Kong for four days only but we were able to go to several places like Lan Kwai Fong, Victoria Peak, and Discovery Bay.

After four days and three nights in Hong Kong, we proceeded to the Philippines.

We played golf at the Riviera Golf Club and Canlubang Golf and Country Club. After four nights, we went to Bohol for four days and three nights. After Bohol, we went to Boracay in Aklan for three days and two nights. After Boracay, we went to Pandan in Antique for five days and four nights.

After Pandan, we went back to Manila and stayed there for two nights. After which, we flew back to Hong Kong and stayed there again for another three nights. We wanted to make sure that we will not miss the plane from Hong Kong to Zurich in case the flight from Hong Kong to Manila will be delayed with Cebu Pacific Air.

Another reason why we went back to Hong Kong early was because we wanted to go to Macau. We actually went to Macau for a whole day tour of Macau.

The next day after our Macau tour, we left Hong Kong via Paris back to Switzerland.
