CIBO Italian Restaurant, Alabang Town Center, Alabang, Philippines

After my mother’s 80th birthday celebration, we flew back to Manila with Zest Air. We did not buy our return tickets at Cebu Pacific Air because we wanted to try Zest Air.

The plane took off from Caticlan Domestic Airport at around 2:09 p.m. instead of 1:50 p.m. but landed at the Manila Domestic Airport at around 2:59 p.m. instead of 2:50 p.m.

From the airport, we went home directly. We just dropped off our luggages, and then went to ATC or Alabang Town Center for a late lunch. We decided to have our lunch at the CIBO Restaurant.

CIBO was an Italian restaurant as well as a pizzeria. It was located at the Second Level Corte de las Palmas at the Alabang Town Center also known as ATC along Alabang-Zapote Road in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Mother’s 80th Birthday in the Philippines

Hub and I went on vacation in May 2009 in the Philippines because we celebrated my mother’s 80th birthday.

But before going home to Pandan, Hub and I played golf first and visited other places too in the Philippines.

We played golf at the Riviera Golf and Country Club and Canlubang Golf and Country Club in Laguna and Cavite respectively.

After a few days in Manila, we went to Bohol and stayed at Bohol Beach Club in Panglao Island.

After Bohol, we went to Boracay and stayed at the Boracay Mandarin along White Beach Boracay. During our short stay in Boracay, we did not miss going up to Mount Luho, the highest point in Boracay Island.

Our mother’s 80th birthday celebration was not that grand. We started the celebration with a mass at the nice chapel of the Holy Family.

The birthday celebration was simple but meaningful enough for all of us as she was able to celebrate it with her family and friends. We were tremendously happy as we were able to celebrate the 80th birthday of our beloved mother.

Mount Luho, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan, Philippines

On our second day in Boracay Island, we went up to Mount Luho. We finally saw the whole island of Boracay from a certain viewpoint right on the island and not from an airplane.

Mount Luho is the highest point in Boracay Island, Philippines. Mount Luho is a small mountain with a viewing deck and a natural staircase going up to the viewing deck.

From Mount Luho View Deck, you will see the fantastic view of the ocean surrounding the island and the entirety of Boracay Island especially that of Bulabog Beach, Lapuz-lapuz Beach, and Ilig-iligan Beach as well as the Fairways and Bluewater and its 18-hole golf course.

Kasbah Boracay Moroccan Cafe, Boracay Island, Philippines

Kasbah is a restaurant and bar, a Moroccan Cafe located at Station 1, Boracay Island, Philippines.

We only had a light lunch at Kasbah. We were not that hungry then so we just ordered some Fresh Ripe Mango Juices, Tangier Calamares as starters, Couscous, Chicken and Prawns Brochettes (Skewers) as the main courses, and Panna Cotta for dessert.

You would think that the skewers were just the same like the other skewers but what they had at Kasbah were different. Their skewers or brochettes were really good. The taste was just different from the skewers we were used to in the Philippines.

I had no idea what made the Moroccan skewers different from the other skewers though.

Let me quote Kasbah regarding its brochettes: “Morocco is renowned for its street stall food of savoury skewers seasoned with cumin, coriander, lemon, garlic and black pepper served with chermoula or harissa dip. Succulently tender.”

Among the spices that they used, I have no idea which made the skewers tasted so good because I am not into cooking. But I think I know that I have a good taste when in comes to food. 🙂

Kasbah Boracay is a good long walk from Boracay Mandarin located at Station 2.

The beach area at Kasbah was not crowded. The restaurant itself was not crowded. The ambience was nice and really relaxing. The price we paid at Kasbah was just worth it.

If you want to eat good food, go to Kasbah Boracay!
