St. Andrews, the Home of Golf

On our third day in Edinburgh, we decided not to play golf. We checked-out of the guest house and proceeded to St. Andrews.

We stayed at the New Hall of the University of St. Andrews.

On our first night in St. Andrews, we had our dinner at the Sands Restaurant at the Old Course Hotel overlooking the 17th hole of the St. Andrews Links Old Course.

The next few days, Friday until Sunday, we played golf at St. Andrews Links, at The Strathtyrum Course, at The New Course, and at The Eden Course.

We did not play golf at The Old Course. It was not just easy booking for The Old Course.

We also went around a little bit in St. Andrews but did not really go to the other historic places except the British Golf Museum.

It was just about playing golf in St. Andrews, the home of golf.

Second Day, Edinburgh, Scotland

On our second day in Edinburgh, we played golf at the Royal Musselburgh Golf Club. That was our first 18 holes in Scotland after a long trip.

When we finished playing golf, we went to the bar and restaurant, and had our late light lunch.

After a game of golf, we again went to Edinburgh City and just walked around the city especially at the Royal Mile.

First Day, Edinburgh City, Scotland

We stayed for three days and two nights in Edinburgh City. We just checked in at the guest house, unloaded our suitcases, then took the bus instead of bringing the car, and went for a walk around Edinburgh City.

We walked along the Princes Street, the street which was dividing the Old Town and the New Town in Edinburgh City. The Edinburgh Castle was located at the Old Town.

Then, we had our dinner at Wildfire Scottish Steak and Seafood Bistro along the Rose Street at the New Town.

After dinner, we just went back to the guest house for a game of golf next day.

Scottish Borders Tourist Route to Edinburgh

As I was saying in my last blog entry, we followed the Scottish Borders Tourist Route via A7 to Edinburgh and the Lothians. We got to see the beautiful sceneries of the places on the Scottish Borders like Hawick, Selkirk, and Galashiels among others along the way.

It rained heavily on certain areas but it stopped raining when we arrived in Edinburgh.
