I was too busy for the past few days that I could not even bring myself to write something here. I need a break right now and thought of posting some photos of fruits, flowers and plants.
The bees were unmindful of me taking photos of the plants while they were on top of the plants. It seemed like they loved and enjoyed it there. I wonder what they were “thinking” and “feeling” at that moment. Perhaps, elated and satisfied that they found something to satiate them? 🙂
We played golf on Sunday, and on Monday, we joined the Uphill Golf Tournament or “Hang-Uf-Golf-Tournier” going up to Hungerberg where Hungerberg restaurant is located.
Hungerberg restaurant, the tournament sponsor, is owned and managed by Brigitte and Hubi Fux and Family.
It was not a regular tournament, it was just organized for fun, for variety and for a change. We just needed one club and three balls to be able to participate. There was only one hole and it was located up in Hungerberg.
It was, of course, an uphill battle as Hungerberg is 1780 meters high above sea level but I won. 🙂
It was such a nice experience. I enjoyed it.
Although it is summer and hot, eating raclette in Obergesteln is quite normal. For others, it is crazy to eat raclette in summer but not for people in Valais. Well, if you do it inside your own house, then it is really going to be hot, that is why we do not even do it at home.
Raclette is a melted cheese. You eat raclette with potatoes, pickles, mini sausages, among others.
If you eat raclette in a restaurant in Valais, of course they will serve it to you. It is not like fondue, be it swiss fondue or fondue chinoise, where you have to do the “cooking” in front of you while you are eating.
If you eat raclette at home, then you do it like fondue, put the so-called small oven on the table and using some special instruments, put the cheese at the oven and wait for the cheese to melt.
We are back from a week vacation just within Switzerland. We went to Pont-La-Ville in Fribourg and played golf at Golf de la Gruyère.
The next day, we went to Valais.
The next day, we played golf at Golf Club Matterhorn Zermatt and went to Gornergrat with the Gornergrat cogwheel railway just to see the Matterhorn.
When we left Zermatt, we proceeded to Obergesteln.
We stayed three days and two nights in Obergesteln and played golf on Saturday and Sunday at Golf Source du Rhône.
We arrived home on Sunday.
