Problogging as a job or business, Web Designing as a hobby
I was so busy for the past few months and for the past few weeks as I have updated my other websites and blogs. Add to that, I revised a few websites too. I actually would like to update my blogs and websites regularly but web designing has been keeping me busy. I still have a lot of websites to be revised as the codes need to be updated.
On April 2, 2009, as I have already written about it here a few weeks ago, I launched (without any champagne)
my new problogging venture at ProBlogit.com, Problogging Tips and Ideas, Reviews and Opinions. I update this blog on a daily basis from Mondays to Fridays but I made Saturdays and Sundays optional days. I do need a break too.
If you would like to venture on making money online problogging or simply just blogging, come, join me at Pro Blog it. You might get some ideas from what I have written so far. You might be interested at these two blog entries, Problogging Summary Guide to Starting and Implementing a Blog, and Direct Ways to Make Money Online Problogging.

Two weeks after launching Pro Blog it, I finally finished revising two websites that I have created in 2000 and 2002, one was about the Semirara Dumpsite Issue in Semirara Island, Caluya, Antique, Philippines way back in 2000 to 2001, and the other one was about the Patria Diesel Power Plant Issue in Patria, Pandan, Antique, Philippines way back in 2002 to 2003. These two sites have been riding with other domain names before until I decided to transfer them to an appropriate domain name so it would be easier to remember them.
I converted the two websites from simple HTML to PHP using WordPress as CMS. These sites are additional two sites that I will be updating too. The updates may not be about the issues anymore but one way or another will still be related to power plants and garbage problems and other things related to the topics and the places.
Along the way, I have also been making some minor revisions at Weggis.net and Pandan.ph. I have never really updated Pandan.ph regularly before but it seems like I will be doing it now, maybe once a month just like how I update Weggis.net. Even if the updates will be just once a month, at least, there will be some movements at the website on a monthly basis.
Having been so busy for the past weeks got me into contemplating that I need to treat problogging as a job or business. I need a lot of commitment to survive the problogging business. The fact is, problogging everyday is not at all an easy task. I need to commit to myself so I will keep on blogging everyday. It is different from web designing which I really treat as a hobby. But no matter what, job or business or hobby, I will survive because I know that I have been loving web designing and blogging.
There is nothing wrong if I like making money online problogging. Is that really bad? I don’t think so, as long as I do not make money the center of my life. Money is just a perk in one’s life. It should not be the center of one’s existence. I can honestly say that it is never the core of my existence on this earth and in this universe.
I am somewhat concerned with the one you wrote on importance of domain name. Mine was probably a subdomain, I guess it is since Ate Beng hosted it for me as part of her one-off game award gift (in which btw I am very grateful about). It was given to me for free use unless of course if discontinue, then of course kasama yung subdom.
Anyways, my question is, after I moved all my posts/comments using import from wp.com to my knoizki.net, would I still be able to export it back to wp.com? Is this reversible or one time process lang?
Ang dami mo palang mini-maintain. Sakit sa ulo nyan ha?
Hello K,
You have a domain name. It is not a subdomain name. Was http://www.knoizki.net given to you by Ate Beng? If I remember it right, I think your site will be hosted by Ate Beng as long as her web hosting business exists. You have got to ask Ate Beng about it again though.
Regarding exporting WP.org blog to WP.com, yes it is possible. You know Tools at the admin sidebar, right? In your self-hosted WordPress blog, under Tools, just click Export, then click Download Export File.
Then in your WordPress.com blog, click Tools menu, click Import, click WordPress, then click Choose File, then Upload file and import.
But back up your WordPress.com blog database file first before importing anything. You can make a backup by exporting the file. Same process like at the self-hosted blog. If anything happens, you will always have your original WordPress.com data file.
Another option is, just create another account at WP.com first and try uploading and importing the file that you exported from your self-hosted blog. Just for you to see how it works. With that, the other WordPress.com blog is safe. You can import the file later on at the other one if you already know how it works.
Anyway, I have been maintaining several sites since 1999 kaya di ako makapagblog regularly noon. That is why I pursued problogging to have more discipline. I blog more often now even if I am busy with web designing. Even if I am busy, I still make sure I visit other blogs too.
Thanks, Sofie. I think the right person to ask is Ate Beng herself about the domain thing. And looks like she’s busy, I don’t see any blog update or even FB presence, baka buys nga – new grandma na sya diba? Dibale, I will email her in case I have some questions.
I know how to move file from wp.com to self-hosted which I did nga when I moved to knoizki.net. Ang hindi ko lang sure if I can move it back to wp.com so pwede pala.
Actually I am good at screwing up files – I don’t trust myself when it comes to serious stuff, that’s why I always end up asking, “what if the right answer could be wrong”?

Hello cheh,
Been busy with Pro Blog it, been busy reading affiliate programs, its process, what do they need, etc. Not easy too kasi most of the time, may mga hinihingi sila na SS# or whatever na wala sa Europe.
I will be problogging about them anyway. Medyo sine-secure ko lang yong mga basic requirements para sa mga gustong mag-problogging na mga new bloggers. Medyo tapos na actually, pero may mga ini-inject pa akong mga little things.
Madugo to problog everyday ha. Grabe. Hahaha… Not the Pay Per Post or ReviewMe or BlogReviews type kasi ang ginagawa ko, PPP will just be one of the many topics that I will be discussing. I am not even doing PPP yet. Not yet even promoting Pro Blog it that much kasi kaunti pa lang ang laman. I’ll start promoting next month. But this April, I was just writing content, and this month of May, I will just continue writing content.
Are yo getting the idea?
Wow how industrious. More power. God bless!
Thanks, Mahalia!
Wow super busy poh pala talaga kayo sa mga websites.. grabe, ako nga busy sa mga social networkings hahaha.. lahat ata kc kasali ako.. hihihi..
Goodluck with all those stuff..
Thanks too, jeniffer!
a lot of blogging jobs you’ve got here….
Obviously, Millionaire Acts.
Hello again Mahalia!
I also could not access your blog just like Snow. I really don’t know why. You and Snow have the same web host, by the way. I hope it has nothing to do with that.
