Simple Happiness

The beach party was part of the celebration of the barangay fiesta in Baybay, a few days after Tugbong Festival, the town’s municipal and religious fiesta. People really look forward to the beach party after the town fiesta as it is quite known that Baybay beach party is always fun.

But then, it was raining during that night. I thought there were not a lot of people. If there were people, they might not enjoy. I was mistaken. The rain was actually the cause that people had more fun. People enjoyed at the beach party and really had a lot of fun.

And me, despite the rain, even if I was sick, I still went to the beach party and had fun too. 🙂

Every April, Pandan celebrates its Tugbong Festival. It’s the time of the year where family and relatives get together.

During the Tugbong Festival, in the evening of April 23, 2008, the Antique’s Binirayan Festival’s Swimsuit and Gown Competition was held at the Pandan auditorium in Pandan, Antique.

The last day of the Tugbong Festival was on April 25, 2008, and in the evening, the ever popular Urihing Tubo Night was organized by Pagtatap Youth.

On other matters, Antique declared a state of calamity because of the typhoon Frank. I heard that a lot of towns in Antique were flooding.

I am kindly asking all of you, please pray for all the people of Antique. A lot of people have been affected and a lot of them have already lost their lives. I can’t just imagine the aftermath of the typhoon and the flood.

We went to Boracay in April. Boracay island has been voted as the best beach in the world a long time ago. I can’t give you any reference as it was the time when there was no internet yet as far as I can recall. Now a days, it’s still being considered somehow as one of the best beaches in the world.

In April 1990 to May 1990, I had my practicum at the Lorenzo Beach Resorts in Boracay. I certainly had a lot of fun in Boracay that made me to frequent the island since then, at least once a year.

This spring season I went to the Philippines for a vacation. I left Switzerland on April 13, 2008 and then came back on May 07, 2008. Although it was spring here (still spring up to now), it was summer in the Philippines. As usual, I got sick in the Philippines because of dust and heat but it never stopped me from having fun with family and friends.

In the next few days, I will write about my travel escapades with my family and friends in the Philippines. So hang on there, and once again, virtually travel with me to Boracay Island in Aklan, Pandan in Antique, Samal Island in Davao, and Metro Manila.
